The 2024 Ford Mustang received a redesign with the most aggressive appearance yet. Ford Mustang performance tops out in the Dark Horse model that pushes the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 to 500 horsepower with a throaty exhaust, and a zero-to-60 time under four seconds.

Drivers who want a milder Mustang can stick with the 2024 Mustang GT with the 5.0-liter V8 and 480 horsepower. The entry-level Mustang includes a turbocharged EcoBoost 2.3-liter high-performance four-cylinder with 315 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic transmission. All models have rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission is still available.

Several Trim Levels and Performance Packages

Like its predecessors, the 2024 Mustang is available in several trims and with a variety of optional performance packages. The Mustang trim levels begin with the EcoBoost and EcoBoost Premium, then move into the GT and GT Performance. The EcoBoost 2.3L High-Performance Package adds exterior features like 19-inch wheels, a large sway bar, a black grille, front tow hooks, and paddle shifters to the steering wheel.

The GT Performance package includes the same upgrades to the exterior, while also adding a performance rear wing. Appearance packages include the Mustang Nite Pony package with special badging, black exterior accents, and a spoiler, while the Dark Horse Appearance package adds a hood graphic, blue brake calipers, and a black roof.

The Ford Mustang interior in the EcoBoost Premium and GT Premium are upholstered in synthetic leather and genuine leather – respectively, along with heated and ventilated front seats, wireless device charging, and a robust nine-speaker audio system. The GT Premium is available with a convertible top.

The Dark Horse trim features aggressive exterior styling with a fastback, an upgraded air intake, and Dark Horse exterior accents. Performance features include an electronic drift brake lever, a MagneRide adaptive suspension, an active exhaust, and additional oil coolers. It’s a work of performance engineering.
